The object of Marine's affections is a young boy named Riiya (she calls him Riiya-kun). Because Riiya is descended from giants who can turn into wolves, Riiya doesn't need the full moon and can change at will. And even though the proof that Riiya can do so is presented to her, Marine just doesn't get that Riiya and the little dog (he prefers wolf) are the same being, often injuring him without realizing it or becoming confused when someone speaks to him and he "isn't in the room."

Marine meets Riiya for the first time in episode three when he gets amnesia (via a magical mistake on Cha Cha's part), floating down into the ocean due to the impact. She rescued him and appointed Riiya her boyfriend. Once he regained his memory and left for home, the determined Marine took it upon herself to follow him and win his heart.

The feeling is not mutual however, for Riiya is already in love with Cha Cha, a childhood friend and the very obstacle between Marine and her dream boy.

George is a weird sea creature who is in love with Marine. His hopes of winning her over are pretty much fruitless, though, as we see in our first glimpse of the two that she pretty much hates him and wants nothing to do with him.
